Immaculata University has announced that incoming freshman Christina Pham, a Coatesville resident and graduate of Collegium Charter School, has earned a Presidential Scholarship.

The Presidential Scholarship is equal to annual full-time undergraduate tuition and is awarded to a select number of students with a record of academic excellence. Students are evaluated on the bases of GPA (students must maintain a 3.25), class rigor, standardized test scores, class rank, and recommendations.

“We are honored that Christina chose Immaculata University, and we are pleased to award the Presidential Scholarship to someone so deserving and accomplished,” said Immaculata president Barbara Lettiere. “We are confident that she will continue to do great things as a student at Immaculata University.”

As valedictorian of her senior class, Pham was active in high school as a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, National History Club, Creative Writing Club, and the Chester County Student Forum. Utilizing her musical talent, she was also an Euphonist in Concert Band, where she also served as a member of the student leader team. During her freshman year, Pham was one of the founders of the Gender Sexuality Alliance and served as a student-leader for the alliance thereafter.

Pham is also active in her church, St. Joseph’s Parish in Downingtown, where she is a regular volunteer for Blessed Bundles, a baby supplies donation drive for families in need.

At Immaculata, Pham is planning to major in nursing and is considering adding a minor in pre-medicine. After earning her undergraduate degree, her goal is to pursue a Master of Science in Nursing.

As a recipient of the Presidential Scholarship, Pham is confident that she will get the most out of her education, especially as a nursing major at Immaculata.

“To me, receiving the Presidential Scholarship is the culmination of all my hard work throughout high school, and because of that, it’s a big moment of pride for me,” she said. “I’m looking forward to what the next four years will hold.”
