With supply chain issues spotlighted in the news recently, the importance of highly qualified professionals has never been greater. Starting in the fall 2020 semester, Immaculata University is offering a Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management (SCM). Students enrolled in SCM can take classes face-to-face or online and in an accelerated or traditional-semester format.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, supply chain management is projected to be one of the fastest-growing industries with employment having increased 83 percent since 2008. The program also provides a path to profitable employment for graduates: As of 2018, targeted occupations in supply chain management earned a median annual salary of $95,596.

“In response to regional and national needs, the new Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management program will be a complement to our robust business and management academic offerings and will train and provide professionals for this in-demand field,” said Angela Tekely, vice president for Academic Affairs and Provost.

The core curriculum for SCM focuses on the areas of operational effectiveness, quality management and continuous improvement, risk management, and global logistics. Students will have both the broad business skills and specific technical skills related to supply chain management to thrive. Partnering with an appointed SCM advisory group, students will have the opportunity to work hands-on with regional businesses within multiple supply chain industries. Students also complete a three-credit internship.
