Habitat for Humanity of Chester County to Host ‘Driving to Build’ Golf Outing on Sept. 14
Habitat for Humanity of Chester County will host its 17th Annual Driving to Build Golf Outing on Monday, Sept. 14 at French Creek Golf Club in Elverson.
The event will begin at 9:30 AM and will include a continental breakfast, round of golf, cocktail party, and silent auction. Participants can register as individual golfers, foursomes, or through various sponsorships.
Proceeds will benefit Habitat’s efforts to put 16 families into homes by next summer in Chester County. The lack of affordable housing nationwide is a crisis that existed before the pandemic. Now, with emergency funding and the moratorium on evictions ending, the need to provide safe, affordable housing in our community is even greater.
To ensure a safe event for everyone, all activities will take place outdoors and CDC guidelines will be followed. Masks must be worn while traveling in golf carts, inside the golf club, and within a six-foot proximity to other individuals. Golf carts are sanitized before use and all meals will be served outside in individual containers.
Following the round, the cocktail party will feature a silent auction. Some auction items include Walt Disney World Park Hopper Passes, a day of sailing on the Chesapeake Bay, and a corporate membership at French Creek Golf Club.
Habitat for Humanity of Chester County is a nonprofit that works with families and individuals to build and finance safe, affordable housing. Habitat volunteers are currently building neighborhoods in West Grove and Coatesville.
