Habitat for Humanity of Chester County will reopen the doors of its ReStore in Coatesville, starting today, June 16, at 10 AM.

The ReStore was closed for the past 13 weeks due to the pandemic. During that time, HfHCC worked diligently worked to create processes and procedures to ensure the store’s cleanliness and safety for shoppers and donors.

For the past week, the ReStore has accepted contactless donations at the rear of the building. All donated items are being sanitized or quarantined following CDC guidelines.

With Chester County moving into Gov. Tom Wolf’s yellow phase, the ReStore staff is excited to get the ball rolling toward business as usual, but at a comfortable and safe pace. There are new procedures in place, ensuring that customers maintain the six-foot social distance, and all customers and staff must wear a mask. Plexiglass barriers have been installed at the checkout counter, along with hand-sanitizer stations.

ReStore staff is looking forward to welcoming back shoppers and donors who make Habitat’s mission possible. Not only is the ReStore a treasure trove of name-brand furniture, appliances, and home goods that are available at a discount, but all sales from the store fund HfHCC’s affordable home construction throughout Chester County. By selling donated goods to the community at a fair price, the ReStore generated enough sales last year to completely fund an entire house.

Hoping to achieve the same goal again this year, the ReStore will need the community’s help by way of shoppers and donations to serve families in need.

Visit the ReStore at 1853 East Lincoln Highway in Coatesville during its new hours: Tuesday through Saturday from 10 AM-5 PM. Click here for the latest ReStore updates.
