People’s Light in Malvern Hosts Drive-In Music Concerts
Live music continues amid the pandemic with a series of drive-in concerts organized by Point Entertainment in the parking lot of People’s Light in Malvern, writes Allie Miller for PhillyVoice.
The series started in June and is expected to run through August. These events provide small groups of five or fewer people who are within the same social bubble with the opportunity to enjoy music together.
Parking spaces for concerts come with a “home space” where attendees can set up lawn chairs. When people venture outside their designated area, face masks and social distancing are required.
The series opened with a concert by The Big Takeover, a New York reggae band, and around 50 cars came for the inaugural event. A Bob Dylan tribute act called Highway 61 Revisited, Jeffrey Gaines, and Valentina Sounds were among the other performers over the last several weeks.
The next show is scheduled for Aug. 1, when The John Byrne Band will perform.
Groups that buy tickets online ahead of time can also pre-order food from The Farmhouse. Their meals will be delivered to their cars during the concert.
