Lands’ End – the national retailer known for its tailored, casual apparel – has bucked the trend that is seeing most retailers retrench by opening a new store in Exton, writes Natalie Kostelni for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The new store covers 6,091 square feet and is located at Fairfield Place. This is the second store the company has opened so far this year. The first was in Fairfax, Va.

“We are all about meeting our customers wherever, whenever, and however they want to shop,” said Claudia Mazo, Lands’ End’s senior vice president of retail. “What we’ve heard from them in the wake of the pandemic is they do enjoy shopping our brand online, but they also want to continue shopping safely in stores.”

She said that the company decided to open its new location in Exton based on online and catalog sales over the years. With many of its customers in the Philadelphia area, Lands’ End wants to provide them with a space where they can browse and, more importantly, try on their favorite products.

The company plans to open another four stores nationwide this year.
