Dansko of West Grove has recognized three independent shoe stores for their exceptional in-store merchandising during their annual FREDDY awards.

The stores are Sole Desire Shoes of Petaluma, Ca.; Earth’s Edge in Grand Haven, Mich.; and Bender’s Shoes of Grand Rapids, Minn.

The nationwide initiative offered awards for implementing an effective Dansko sales event, designing a creative, on-brand window or tabletop display and configuring an original, brand-oriented slatwall.

“Each of our FREDDY award winners showcased creativity and thoughtfulness, helping their customers think about Dansko in new and meaningful ways,” said Kitty Bollinger, Dansko executive vice president of sales. “We’re thrilled to celebrate their efforts with FREDDY Awards for retail excellence.”

Founded in 1990 by wife and husband team, Mandy Cabot and Peter Kjellerup, Dansko leads the comfort footwear market in award-winning design and customer service. Right now the firm is featuring “get out and get active” styles for the new year, as well as stylish waterproof shoes for the winter weather.
