U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross visited the Commercial Space Operations Center, a subsidiary of Analytical Graphics Inc., in Exton last week, where he used the opportunity to talk about the current administration’s infrastructure plans, writes Joseph DiStefano for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

“Infrastructure has been a campaign promise from way back in 2016,” said Ross.

He acknowledged that the coronavirus, among other issues, has slowed down the administration’s infrastructure efforts.

“But infrastructure is important independent of its stimulative impact,” said Ross.

During the visit to the federal space contractor that is situated atop AGI’s headquarters, Ross and other federal officials, including congresswoman Chrissy Houlahan, were given a tour, along with a summary of AGI facilities from the company’s chief executive, Paul Graziani.

AGI has developed software that tracks the proliferating satellites and debris in space and uses collected data to advise its clients of impending collisions and how to avoid them. Through the use of a mix of data provided by telescopes, satellites, airborne GPS systems, and other sources, the company makes projections that are sometimes more current and detailed than the government’s tracking system.
