Chesterbrook-based AmerisourceBergen is once again the highest-ranked Philadelphia-area company on the Fortune 500, checking in at No. 10, writes Kennedy Rose for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The company held steady compared to the last year, preserving its spot in the Top 10 of the annual list published by Fortune magazine that ranks 500 of the largest corporations nationwide by revenue.

This year, the 500 companies that made the list posted $14.2 trillion in combined revenue, making up two-thirds of the nation’s economy.

While no other Chester County companies made the Fortune 500, four more found their place on the Fortune 1000.

Berwyn-based Ametek rose 14 places compared to last year to land at No. 538. Meanwhile, Kennett Square-based Genesis HealthCare dropped 46 places and is now ranked at No. 589.

Triumph Group, also based in Berwyn, went up nine spots to No. 719.

Finally, Malvern-based Vishay Intertechnology fell 87 spots, checking in at No. 846.

Nationwide, Walmart remained in first place with total revenue of $524 billion last year, followed by Amazon in second place with $281 billion in total revenue.
