Courtney Webb, a QVC host who once hoped to join the ranks of the great ones through her gymnastics skills, has revived her Olympic dreams decades later with a new sport, skeleton, writes Lisa Dukart for Main Line Today.

For the last several years, the West Chester resident has put all of her energy into training for the high-speed winter sport. She is now hoping to secure a spot on Team USA to compete in the 2022 Games in Beijing.

She chose skeleton after Lauren Gibbs, who won silver at the last Winter Olympics, suggested it to her. Then, the first time she tried it at Park City, her coach was impressed and invited her to stay and train.

“I worked and slid for two months straight,” she said.

Now, she is preparing by doing Olympic Training at Method Hockey in West Chester and flexibility yoga sessions.

Being able to revive her Olympic dreams has left her feeling a myriad of emotions.

“It’s nerve-wracking, exciting, and daunting all at the same time,” she said. “It’s a lot of emotions, but the best I can do is just to give it one day at a time.”
