Miguel Alban, a native of Peru who moved to Philadelphia when he was 23, is Senior Vice President, Multicultural Banking Manager at Customers Bank.

Alban earned his J.D. from the Universidad of Piura and his Master of Laws in International Law and Legal Studies from Temple University. He credits a number of people who have been influential in his career.

“Lenny Rivera and Tim Rayne were great in the beginning of my career,” said Alban, who began working as a 16-year-old in Peru, going door to door selling encyclopedias. “Also, Tony Poluch and John Featherman gave me my first opportunity to enter banking.”

Being named the Honorary Consul for Peru in Philadelphia is Alban’s proudest professional achievement.

“I’m proud to represent my country in a city that has given me many opportunities,” he said.

Alban’s favorite Chester County restaurants are Casa Herrera in Thorndale and Taqueria Moroleon in Avondale.
