Those who want to exercise but their busy schedules will not allow it are in luck.

The Exercise Coach, a new high-tech fitness studio that shortens workouts to just 20 minutes, opened in Wayne last week, writes Laura Brzyski for Philadelphia magazine.

The new smart gym is offering an intense interval program to leave participants feeling as if they have just spent a full hour at the gym. To achieve this, the fitness studio is using high-tech, robotic machines to create a personalized exercise regimen for each person, based on his or her capabilities, conditions, and comfort level.

The workouts are scheduled twice a week and monitored by certified coaches whose task is to ensure everybody is getting the most out of their high-intensity interval training.

The Exercise Coach uses a technology known as Exerbotics on all of its machines to track and store every user’s performance every minute of the session. The first session is used to set a benchmark for all the equipment.

The two 20-minute sessions per week can range from a workout completely dedicated to a specific muscle group to a combo of cardio and strength training.
