Slow Hand, one of the newest additions to West Chester’s restaurant scene, is offering its patrons a time-traveling experience with its creative bar food and cocktails, writes Ed Williams for Main Line Today.

Business partners Josh McCullough and Craig Russell opened the vintage restaurant in April in a converted firehouse. Inside, the retro aesthetic is highlighted by mid-1970s swivel bar stools, vintage accent chairs, and metal tables.

The locally procured menu is orchestrated by executive Chef Russell, using ingredients sourced from Green Meadow Farm, Kennett Square Specialties, Hill Creek Farms, and Castle Valley Mill.

Seasonal appetizers include spicy brisket chili, kale salad, and charred carrots. There are also sliders that the chef calls “belly bombers.”

The entrees are just as flavorful, with items such as flounder and clams, roast pork, and the occasional nightly special.

“I see the food evolving in the next few months in a way that will take us away from the bar food and focus more on crafted dishes,” said Russell.

The bar also offers many creative craft cocktails, a selection of wines, and a wide range of popular brews.
