The Air Jordan 14 PE (Player Exclusive) sneakers worn by Coatesville High School graduate and former NBA star Richard Hamilton 20 years ago when he led the University of Connecticut to the NCAA title will get their widespread release this April, writes Ben Felderstein for Sneaker News.

Hamilton’s exploits in the national championship against Duke – 27 points, seven rebounds, three assists, two steals, and zero turnovers – led the Huskies to a 77-74 victory. He later played professionally as a teammate of Michael Jordan’s with the Washington Wizards.

The Jordan Brand stands above the rest in a saturated market for basketball footwear. Some of the most heralded athletes in the world have worn them and won championships and individual accolades along the way.

The soon-to-be-released sneakers will be in Varsity Red and White and feature subtle hints of UConn-friendly Blue contrasted by flashes of Metallic Silver and Black.

The Air Jordan 14 PE Hamilton version will retail at $190.
