Two Chester County charities are among the state’s most highly rated organizations, writes Ashley Post for Charity Navigator.
These organizations fill unique gaps and find inventive solutions to ongoing problems in their communities. They are also committed to maintaining the highest standards for financial health and accountability.
West Chester-based Community Volunteers in Medicine enables people who live or work in Chester County, who lack access to insurance, to lead healthy lives with compassionate medical and dental care and health education.
The program is specifically designed to provide services for families who earn less than 300 percent of the Federal Poverty guidelines and are not eligible for Medical Assistance, Medicare, VA benefits, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program.
Among the many services provided by the organization are behavioral health, women’s health, and pain management.
Kennett Square-based La Comunidad Hispana helps low-income residents of southern Chester County stay healthy, build strong families, and lead productive lives. The organization provides high-quality, integrated healthcare and social and adult educational services.
