Tastykakes are already legendary for their deliciousness, but these simple “hacks” will help improve your snacking experience and bring it to a whole new level, writes Bethany Ao for the Philadelphia Inquirer.
For example, one of the best ways to get the most out of a frosted cupcake is to ensure that the icing does not come off when opening it. The best way to do this is to turn the snack over and smear the icing over the cake before opening.
Also, many Tastykake consumers recommend eating the treats straight from the freezer. For Butterscotch Krimpets, this makes the icing less sticky and more enjoyable to eat. Kandy Kakes and Lemon Pies also get that extra oomph when stored in the freezer, while Swiss Rolls benefit most when stored in the fridge.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, microwaving Honey Buns kicks them up a notch to the point where they could almost be called a breakfast pastry. The same could be done with Koffee Kake Juniors and Apple Pies.
Other foods can also benefit from using Tastykakes. For example, bread pudding will be nicely spiced up and given a Philadelphia spin if you use Krimpets instead of regular bread.
