Most of our life we look forward to a break and summer vacation is the best!
For the modern day entrepreneur that means kids are home from school, no alarm clocks, long beach days and spur of the moment memory-making trips.
That is my definition of freedom.
But when you are your own boss a few shifts must occur in order for your empire to continue to thrive. Consider these three ideas:
- Maintain business hours – You may not have the same amount of time to devote to your business but just because the kids aren’t in their normal routine does not mean you should get out of yours. Wake up two hours earlier each day to dedicate to business activities.
- Share your business goals with your family – Express your intentions with your family and let them know what that will mean for them. Work time is exactly that so the rest of the time will be family quality time!
- Find support – It is ok to ask for help. I have the most amazing neighbor who spends a few hours with our girls a few days a week so that I can be productive. Find and utilize help.
Do not lose sight of WHY you started your own business. Embrace the freedom and flexibility that entrepreneurship has to offer and most of all, have FUN!
