Milad Toliyati, who earned a Master of Engineering Management degree from Penn State Great Valley, has found success just a few years after graduating, according to a report from Penn State News.
After receiving his bachelor’s degree in his native Iran, Toliyati found employment with Kalleh, a dairy company and one of the Top 50 global brands, according to Euromonitor.
Toliyati then decided to broaden his horizons by enrolling at Penn State Great Valley. It took him a year and a half to finish the program before he started looking for a job in the region.
Now, just four years after graduating, he is the director of Axis Group’s Axis Academy. According to Toliyati, three elements helped propel his U.S. career.
The Curricular Practical Training authorization let him work remotely as a business analyst while studying. Meanwhile, the Penn State name provided him with exceptional networking opportunities. Finally, the value of an interdisciplinary degree helped Toliyati highlight his strengths at interviews.
“The degree equipped me with technical and non-technical skills,” said Toliyati. “It gave me a competitive advantage.”
