Paramour and the Wayne Hotel recently presented Surrey Services for Seniors with a donation in the amount of $4,525, the proceeds from ticket sales of the 7th Annual Kentucky Derby Party.

Surrey, a Devon-based nonprofit that helps older adults live with independence and dignity and continue as engaged members of the community, was selected as the beneficiary for the annual event.

“Surrey was founded on ‘neighbor helping neighbor’ and it brings us great joy to work with our business neighbors to raise dollars and awareness for our mission,” said Kathleen Sanger, Senior Director of Development at Surrey. “Working with Steve and Kathy Bajus (owners of Paramour and the Wayne Hotel) also means working side by side with family.

“Their longtime support of Surrey has seen us grow from a small group of volunteers providing rides to their elderly neighbors to an organization with four centers offering hundreds of classes, lunches, and delivered meals, and a full range of in-home services.

“We plan to use this contribution from Paramour’s 7th Annual Kentucky Derby Party immediately to fund subsidies for low-income seniors who need and benefit from our programs and services but cannot afford the full cost. We are so thankful to Steve and Kathy, all of the guests, and Paramour’s staff for a festive event that highlighted the beauty of the hotel and restaurant and the impact of kindness and philanthropy.”
