United Way Increases Discount for Registrants for Fifth Annual Color Run

By

Thanks to presenting co-sponsors Brandywine Hospital/Tower Health and Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., the United Way of Chester County is bringing back its popular Color 5K Run & Walk on April 29 after an exciting venue change last year to the Brandywine Airport Runway in West Chester.

The 2018 fundraiser has already reached record sponsorship levels in the event’s five-year history, and registration is now open.

The Run & Walk gives participants the unique opportunity to have fun on an airport runway with a backdrop of planes and helicopters adding to the excitement. The flat course includes numerous color stations where participants are sprayed with a rainbow of neon colors. New this year will be the addition of color confetti stations.

Because of the family friendly format, the race is untimed and evenly split between walkers and runners. However, there will be a clock at the finish line for those who want to know their time. Included in their entry fee, all participants will receive a commemorative event shirt, a fun pair of neon sunglasses, and a Rita’s Water Ice.

“This United Way Color 5K is a fun event that is truly designed for everyone,” said Claudia Hellebush, President and CEO of the United Way of Chester County. “You don’t have to be a seasoned runner to come out and participate. It’s all about having fun with a group of friends, family, or co-workers, while doing something good for the community.”

Special thanks go to Brandywine Airport on Ward Avenue in West Chester for its support of the United Way of Chester County by hosting this one-of-a-kind event. The race begins promptly at 2 PM but participants can come as early as 12:30 PM for pre-race games and activities. Registration is open here with new lower prices and early-bird rates until April 1. When registering, use the special discount code VistaToday for an additional $10 off.

Due to the generosity of sponsors, every penny of race registrations will benefit the United Way of Chester County’s Financial Stability Center. In addition to presenting sponsors Brandywine Hospital and Arthur J. Gallagher & Co, special thanks to additional sponsors Comcast, Will Anderson State Farm, CCRES, Chester County Economic Development Council, UPS Chesapeake District, Brandywine Valley Heating & Air Conditioning, and the Law Firm of Barry S. Rabin. Additional sponsors include Rita’s Water Ice in Eagleview and 50/50 Entertainment.
