Chester County Boy Scouts Move Headquarters to Exton Mall, Aim to Bring Scouting to Wider Audience

By

It’s an exciting time for the Chester County Council, Scouts BSA.

Not only is it celebrating its 100th year of preparing young people to become responsible and participating citizens and leaders, but it has moved its headquarters to the Exton Square Mall to coincide with the fall season, the time of year when most families join Scouting.

As seen in the above video, the Chester County Council also operates a Service Center and Outdoor Adventure Store at the mall.

“We wanted to be able to offer more opportunities to our customers that we really didn’t have in our previous location,” Craig Sims, the Council’s Assistant Scout Executive, said of moving the headquarters from its previous location in West Chester. “We’re able to have expanded hours and a larger selection of products to bring Scouting to a broader group of individuals.”

All Scouting programs are now open to both boys and girls. In 2018, the Cub Scouting program started serving both boys and girls from kindergarten through fifth grade. The Scouts BSA program launched in February 2019 and serves boys and girls ages 11 to 18, thus allowing more young people than ever before to experience the benefits of a time-tested program that builds character and leadership.
