Bob Schnure, the retired girls basketball coach from the Downingtown Area School District, is one of four high schools coaches who will be honored tonight at the second annual Coaches vs. Cancer high school legends dinner at the Great American Pub in Conshohocken, writes Rick O’Brien for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Schnure will be recognized for his 35 years as the girls coach at the old Downingtown High School and at Downingtown East, which opened in 2003. He went 791-244 (for a .764 winning percentage) and won 11 District Once Class AAAA titles and five state crowns.

He coached numerous Division I players, including Tina Nicholson (Penn State) and Tora Suber (Virginia), who both went on to play in the WNBA.
