Devon Resident Among Political ‘Avengers’ Featured on the Cover of Time Magazine

By

Chrissy Houlahan

Devon resident Chrissy Houlahan is one of three suburban Philadelphia women, all first-time Democrats running for office, who are featured on the cover of the latest issue of Time magazine, writes Maria Panaritis for the Philadelphia Inquirer.

The Time cover features dozens of women who became active in politics and are seeking elective office in response to President Donald Trump’s 2016 election and their dissatisfaction with the Democratic Party’s response. The cover story calls the women political “Avengers.”

Houlahan is looking to unseat U.S. Rep. Ryan Costello. She is a Stanford-educated engineer, and a former Air Force Reserve captain and teacher.

Houlahan served as chief operating officer of AND1, a basketball apparel and footwear brand, and is the chief operating officer of B Lab, a nonprofit that promotes B Corporations and good business practices.

Montgomery County’s Sara Campbell-Szymanski and Bucks County’s Rachel Fingles are also pictured on the cover.
