Nathaniel Echeverria has been named the Director of Economic Development for the Borough of Kennett Square and Kennett Township, writes Richard Gaw for the Chester County Press.

Echeverria is a Media native and Penn graduate with an advanced degree in Urban, Community, and Regional Planning. He is currently the Director of Policy and Operations for the San Jose Downtown Association, as he helps businesses with permits and connects them with development incentives.

The goal of Echeverria’s new position will be implementing the Kennett Regional Economic Development Study. This includes a wide-ranging outline of economic and community development plans, programs, and services in the borough and the township.

Echeverria was selected unanimously by the Selection Committee after a rigorous interview process.

“We received three glowing reviews from his working partners, and we felt his thoughtful presence yet authoritative knowledge within this field would fit perfectly in Kennett,” said Historic Kennett Square Executive Director Mary Hutchins.

Echeverria will assume his new position on Dec. 4.
