Curtain Finally Lifts on Phoenixville’s Expanded Colonial Theatre

By

The curtain has lifted inside the historic Colonial Theatre now that its expansion into the next-door National Bank of Phoenixville building is complete and open to the public.

The extra 11,000 square feet has provided the Colonial with two new theaters for first-run movies, a concessions hub showcasing wine and beer, space for special events, including a catering kitchen, plus a roof deck and more restrooms, according to a Philadelphia Business Journal report by Natalie Kostelni.

“We have doubled our attendance and concessions” in the first few weeks since the expansion debuted, said Emily Simmons, Development Director of the Association for the Colonial Theatre.

And the venue better accommodated its popular annual Blobfest in the new space.
