Industry Veteran Joins Beneficial Bank’s New Media Office as Senior Vice President

Beneficial Bank has named Albert Melfi as Senior Vice President, Commercial Lending Team Leader.

Based in Media, he will lead new business development and relationship management in Beneficial’s Delaware County loan office that just opened this month.

Melfi has more than 40 years of experience in banking and commercial lending. Prior to joining Beneficial Bank, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer at DNB First, where he oversaw the Commercial Loan function of the bank and served as part of the team established to complete the acquisition of East River Bank in 2016.

Melfi previously held leadership roles at Commerce Bank, Continental Bank, MidAtlantic Bank, PNC Bank, and First Pennsylvania Bank.

Our new loan office in Media has just opened, and we’re eager to have Albert take the lead.”

Melfi is active in the community, having served as:

  • Board Member and former Chairman of the Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry
  • Vice Chairman of the Delaware County Industrial Development Authority for more than 30 years
  • Board Member and Chairman of the Loan Review Committee for the Delaware County Industrial Development Corporation for 15 years

He is a graduate of Philadelphia College of Textile and Science and the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at The University of Delaware.
