23_vanguard_logoVanguard, a world leader in the investment industry, manages more than $3.8 trillion in global assets.

And the only thing that perhaps exceeds in volume the amount of money Vanguard employees are responsible for is the goodwill and cheer they spread each holiday season to the children of Greater Philadelphia.

As part of their 21st annual Sponsor-a-Child holiday program, Vanguard employees, whom the company affectionately refers to as the crew, have donated wish-list gifts to more than 1,800 local children in need through Delaware Valley Children’s Charities.

The gifts – which include thousands of toys, clothing, electronics, and bikes – were picked up on Thursday from Vanguard’s warehouse by the dozens of agencies DVCC supports, including ChesPenn Health Services, Community Action Agency, and Easter Seals Society.

Throughout the months of November and December, Vanguard employees around the world join together in collecting monetary donations, volunteering their time to shop and wrap gifts, and helping to sort and distribute the gifts, so children will have them in time for the holidays.

Since the program’s inception in 1995, the crew have donated several million dollars worth of presents, household necessities, and holiday meals to children around the world.
