Republican Committee of Chester County Chairman Val DiGiorgio has received an immense boost in support of his quest to serve at the highest level of the statewide Republican Party.

Sen. Pat Toomey has endorsed him for election to the post, according to a Philadelphia Business Journal report by Nick Field.

“I strongly support Val DiGiorgio as the next leader of our party,” Toomey said. “I have worked closely with Val for years, and I know him to be an energetic, smart, and extremely talented individual who has had countless election triumphs in an important swing county.

“Val has repeatedly done the hard, grassroots work as a county chairman that has resulted in Republican victories, including my hard-fought 2016 victory, in his big, competitive, suburban county.”

Members of the Republican State Committee will have a chance to vote for DiGiorgio during the party’s Feb. 4 meeting in Hershey.

“Having just gone through perhaps the toughest successful statewide race in America, I thought you might wish to consider my perspective on what it takes to win,” Toomey said.
