Representatives from regional townships were on hand to accept generous donations from PECO.

peco-2.full_-2 (1)PECO is paving the way for more recreational trails and community parks in Chester County with $30,000 in grants.

The good news came last week when PECO President and CEO Craig Adams and Natural Lands Trust President Molly Morrison presented $60,000 to seven municipalities, mostly located in Chester and Delaware counties.

The three local beneficiaries were East Bradford Township, North Coventry Township, and East Marlborough Township. Each received $10,000 through the PECO Green Region program, which has invested in more than 150 projects focused on open space preservation, improvements to parks and recreation resources, and environmental conservation.

The grant program was hosted at People’s Light & Theatre Co. in Malvern on Oct. 19. The other recipients were Delaware County’s Morton Borough ($10,000), Norwood Borough ($10,000), and Media Borough ($715), as well as Bucks County’s Newtown Borough ($9,100).
