According to the 2010 United States Census, Chester County is home to 13,689 businesses.

Of the five suburban Southeastern Pennsylvania counties, only Delaware County with 12,629 companies, has fewer businesses headquartered in the county than does Chester County.

Philadelphia County leads the region at 26,772 companies calling the City of Brotherly Love home,  followed closely by Montgomery County at 25,632 then Bucks county at 18,878 businesses.

Of Chester County’s 13,689 businesses, 16.5 percent of those businesses are classified as “Professional, scientific, and technical services,” while 10.7% are considered “Retail trade.
