West Chester Architects Create Piece of Homeland For German Couple in Newtown Square

A German couple who wanted to create a piece of their homeland in Newtown Square have built a contemporary house true to the aesthetics of their roots in Europe, writes Tara Behan for Main Line Today.

german-house-3“They gave us the latitude to create a house that was German in design and spirit, but could also live comfortably on a street in suburban Pennsylvania,” said Matthew Forsythe, the project’s architect.

“They wanted the sort of quiet, comfortable home they would find in Germany,” said Richard Buchanan, partner of West Chester’s Archer & Buchanan Architecture.
