happy-cat-logoA Kennett Square farmer with a passion for heirloom seeds is helping people see the food that’s sprouting up all around them.

With a simple walk through the woods, Tim Mountz is helping to revive the lost art of foraging.

“I think the popularity of foraging is coming back as part of the local food movement,” Mountz said in a NewsWorks report and video by Andrea Gibbs. “Foraging has been around since humans have walked upright; it’s how we found food before we had agriculture.”

Each step of his tour, Mountz sowed wisdom about edible plants and his interest in foraging.

He is the owner of Kennett Square’s Happy Cat Farm, where a rich legacy of seed-saving, gardening, and foraging runs deep.
