The nighttime explosion of color, light and sound that accentuated the magic of Longwood Gardens last year will light up the grounds again this summer when Nightscape: A Light and Sound Experience by Klip Collective returns on Aug. 3.

The 2016 exhibit promises to thrill another 180,000 guests with its most popular displays plus a few new surprises from 6 to 11 p.m. on Wednesday through Saturday nights from Aug. 3 through Oct. 29. Tickets are already on sale here.

“We are thrilled to bring Nightscape back again this year,” Executive Director Paul B. Redman said. “The enthusiastic response we received last year exceeded our expectations. We are always eager to entertain our guests in innovative, new ways, and Nightscape does just that with a blend of art, technology, music and nature.”

Guests will enjoy new installations in the Conservatory, including in the Exhibition Hall, Mediterranean Garden and Waterlily Display. Outdoors, guests can experience Peirce’s Woods and the Love Temple, as well as enhancements to the Rose Arbor and Flower Garden Walk. Many of Nightscape’s most popular installations will return, including the Large Lake, the Topiary Garden, the Silver Garden and Palm House. In addition, many installations feature new music.

Also on tap this year is the Longwood Beer Garden and its live music on Thursday nights — featuring garden-grown grapefruit in Victory Brewing Co.’s new Longwood Seasons: Grapefruit Solstice as well as the summertime return of Longwood Seasons: Summer Zest — a Sept. 21 Meet the Brewer event that will showcase Longwood Gardens’ special ingredients and the Seasons brewing process, and a monthly Artist & Friends speaker series featuring Nightscape creator Ricardo Rivera and a panel of technologists and artists discussing cutting-edge topics inspired by the technology, art, music and design of the innovative display, scheduled for Aug. 12, Sept. 9 and Oct. 7.
