JDog Junk Removal & Hauling, the Berwyn based company that operates across 24 states, has announced the addition of Marine Corps Reserve Major General, James Lariviere, to its Joint Chiefs Advisory Board.

The Joint Chiefs Advisory Board is dedicated to improving post-military career opportunities for veterans and consists of highly-placed military veterans as well as successful entrepreneurs, who provide the company with leadership and counsel, according to a staff report from Franchising.com.

Major General Lariviere brings with him over two decades of both senior civilian and military experience in the Marine Corps Reserve, as well as over ten years of experience on Capitol Hill where he served as a military legislative assistant. In his prolific career, Lariviere has also served as the Staff Director and Minority Staff Director of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, as well as a senior public policy advisor, where he helped companies create legislative marketing strategies for defense, homeland security, and veterans’ affairs.

Other members of the advisory board include retired Marine Major General Douglas O’Dell, retired Army Captain Larry Liss, and Forrest Pragoff, who served as President General the Society of the Cincinnati, the first military veterans’ organization in the country.

JDog has seen astounding growth in the past year, increasing the number of its franchise locations from 5 to 44, and added six states to the area it covers. Franchises of the company are sold exclusively to military veterans and their family members. Owners of the franchise operate camouflage vehicles and trailers and are easily recognizable by their military-style uniforms.

The company shows its dedication to the community and the environment by repurposing much of its collected material and working closely with organizations such as Goodwill and Habitat for Humanity as well as other local venues to donate its work to those in need.

“It is an honor to join a company whose number one mission is to reduce the veteran unemployment rate,” said Lariviere. “I am excited for the opportunity to provide leadership at JDog and look forward to serving military veteran franchisees across the nation.”
