Rare Chaddsford Winery Sale Toasted To Departing Phillies GM
Chaddsford Winery raised a glass of its custom Phillies Club Series wine for a creative tribute to the former Phillies general manager who grew up alongside the burgeoning winery.
The Philadelphia Phillies Club Series Wine, which “never goes on sale”, was 33 percent off last weekend, when it was paired with Reuben sandwiches during afternoon tastings Saturday and Sunday in honor of outgoing GM Ruben Amaro Jr., according to a PennLive report.
“Amaro was a batboy for the Phillies when Chaddsford opened in 1982,” writer Paul Vigna wrote in the article. “While he had a career as a major league player and then general manager, Chaddsford was building its reputation regionally for dry, premium wines. Indeed, for many locally and around the country, Chaddsford remains the winery that comes to mind when someone mentions Pennsylvania and winemaking.”
