West Chester's newest restaurant is a whiskey dive with a rich, protein focused menu.
West Chester’s new Saloon 151, aptly named for it’s location at 151 West Gay Street, fills a hole in the local market with a plethora of whiskeys and slow cooked meats.
Owner and West Chester local Frank Herron partnered with Butch Eby of Joclyn’s of Media to convert the former  Kooma space into an alluring, brightly lit bar and restaurant.  The space was designed to highlight local artists in both the alcohol-inspired works of painter Kyle Whary, and the country acoustic nights that are planned.

The interior strikes a dark, sports bar atmosphere.
Calling on the capable Chef Greg Caputo, this menu is brimming with bold, protein centered dishes.  Most notably, the slow-cooked brisket, blackened salmon, barbeque ribs, and saloon fries- a robust helping of potatoes smothered in cheese and shredded beef- are a natural complement to the bar’s line-up of whiskey, and craft beer in bottles and on draught.
Make the most of the summer weather by snagging a seat outside.  Open 7 days a week from 8am – 2am, Saloon 151 is a welcome addition to the downtown West Chester landscape.  For a full menu and nightly specials, visit their website here.
