Michigan Family Raps Its Way To $100,000 CertainTeed Home Renovation

By

The Bird family of Farmington HIlls, Michigan put together a short rap video about their old house.

Creative rap music lyrics just transformed the future of a family’s home exterior to the tune of $100,000 thanks to local building materials giant CertainTeed’s Living Spaces Home Makeover Contest.

“The ingenuity of rap lyrics, highlighting their many renovation needs, was a fun way to communicate how CertainTeed can improve the curb appeal and performance of their home,” CertainTeed Siding Marketing Director Matt Gibson said in announcing the contest winners, the Bird family of Michigan. “We look forward to restoring this 75 year-old home to its true beauty.”

The hit song, “Rappin’ for a Redo,” will slap new siding, decking, railing, roofing, insulation and more onto the home over the course of several weeks starting in September. All along the way, the home makeover will be documented and aired on CertainTeed’s Living Spaces Facebook page.
