Bernardon Unveils Its New Look

BHH, now simply Bernardon, announced a new design, name change and management structure last week.

Bernardon Haber Holloway Architects has introduced its new name and logo. Since the beginning of the month, the firm has been operating under the more streamlined name “Bernardon.

In addition to the new identity, the company has also adjusted its leadership structure with Arthur A. Bernardon AIA, assuming the role of Chairman.

The new leadership team includes Kerry R. Haber, AIA, President; William E. Holloway, AIA, Vice President; Neil B. Liebman, AIA, Managing Principal; Paul Andrew Sgroi, AIA, Principal; Timothy J. Cassidy, PhD, RLA, Principal; Douglas C. Hertsenberg, AIA, Principal; and Michael S. McCloskey, AIA, Associate Principal.

“We are a growing firm, constantly improving” says President Kerry R. Haber. This move will “showcase our abilities as a highly creative and collaborative firm.”

Sunoco Logistics is Planning a Second Pipeline

Sunoco Logistic Partners has unveiled its plans to build an additional pipeline to deliver Marcellus natural fuel to Marcus Hook. The company stated that its current intention is to build two pipelines simultaneously within its Mariner East 2 project.

The Twin pipelines would primarily follow the route of Sunoco’s first Mariner East project, an 84-year-old repurposed fuel pipeline crossing Pennsylvania, activated in December.

anniversary.  The company, whose main brand in the U.S. is CertainTeed, is planning to open a new multi-million dollar North American headquarters and R&D center in Malvern, PA.

One of the company’s latest products is a new glass that uses electric current to instantly change color. CEO Pierre-André de Chalendar described the potential  “It gets blue so you don’t have glare or need shades, so you can significantly reduce your air-conditioning needs”

While Saint Gobain is currently only listed on European markets making it a bit more tricky to invest in, the potential is clearly there. “We have more U.S. investors in Saint Gobain than any other country, so we can obviously attract many of them despite being listed in Paris,” says de Chalendar.

AMETEK Purchasing the Surface Inspection Systems Division of Cognex Corporation

AMETEK (NYSE: AME), the global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electro-mechanical devices, headquartered in Berwyn has announced that it has reached an agreement to buy the Surface Inspection Systems Division of Cognex Corporation.

The business which has annual revenues of $60 million will be acquired for approximately $160 million. The Surface Inspection Systems Division develops and manufactures software-enabled vision systems used to inspect surfaces of continuously processed materials for flaws and defects will join AMETEK as part of its Electronic Instruments Group (EIG).

“We are excited about the opportunity to acquire such an outstanding business,” said Frank S. Hermance, AMETEK Chairman and CEO.

Ametek’s EIG group is a leader in the design and manufacture of advanced instruments in the aerospace, power and industrial markets with sales of over $2.4 billion.
