Exton-based contract research firm Frontage Laboratories is testing out a bold new growth strategy by nearly tripling its U.S. clinical research capacity with a single new research center.

Tapping the region’s robust medical industry and enormous populous, Frontage recently opened a new 36,000-square-foot facility with 160 patient beds just outside New York City in Secaucus, N.J., according to a Philadelphia Business Journal report. The organization already has much smaller centers in Exton and Hackensack, N.J., as well as a pair of Chinese facilities in Beijing and Shanghai.

“We are excited to operate a second facility in New Jersey,” Senior Vice President of Clinical Services Eileen McAuley said in the article. “It has been an ideal location for our clinical research, due to the immediate access to the medical communities as well as subject and patient populations.”

With the new center, Frontage aims to expand both the breadth of its studies and volume of studies.
