National Fellowship Aims To Enlarge The Impact Of La Comunidad Hispana’s Rebecca Bixby

The incredible influence of a culturally welcoming southern Chester County nonprofit’s medical director is no longer an unnoticed and underappreciated difference-maker.

La Comunidad Hispana‘s Rebecca Bixby has not only been named one of 30 clinicians making a difference by the nationwide Migrant Clinicians Network but also selected among 30 of the country’s most advanced practice nurses for the Duke-Johnson & Johnson Nurse Leadership fellowship.

“For our 30th anniversary this year, it was natural that we wanted to celebrate by highlighting the work of some of the stellar migrant clinicians making huge change in our country and abroad,” MCN stated in a recent announcement. “Their work is often underreported, going unrecognized, and yet thousands of mobile patients’ lives have been affected by their service.”

Bixby’s shot of national recognition will provide her a year-long opportunity to become a better leader and provide effective and efficient health care delivery to underserved populations.

“Rebecca is a top professional, and her selection to the prestigious leadership program demonstrates her abilities and reflects the impact she is making in the community through our mission,” LCH COO and Interim CEO Alisa Jones said in the press release. “Her recognition as a clinician making a difference is also a highly respected achievement and well-deserved.”
