A year-end retirement has created a new year of opportunity for Angelo N. Chaclas, who has been promoted to         senior vice president and chief legal officer of Trinseo, the Berwyn-based global manufacturer of plastics, latex and rubber formerly known as Styron.

Chaclas previously served as associate general counsel and chief intellectual property counsel.

“We are extremely pleased to name a chief legal officer with Angelo’s strategic understanding of Trinseo’s businesses and the chemical industry,” President and CEO Chris Pappas said in a press release.

“His vast experience working across geographies and functional areas will be an asset to support our ongoing activity in capital markets, transactions, compliance, governance, intellectual property and other operational activities of the company worldwide.”

Chaclas fills the vacancy created by Curt Shaw’s retirement.
