Victory Brewing Helping Develop Game-Changing Bacteria

By

Downingtown’s Victory Brewing Co. is on the verge of a big win over beer-tainting bacteria thanks to a neighboring Philly innovator and its fresh success at catching the bugs that ruin wine.

“We’ve been so successful in the food safety [sector],” Invisible Sentinel Co-Founder Ben Pascal said of his Philly company’s quality control technology in a Keystone Edge article. “And so we started asking ourselves, ‘What other groups have the same types of problems with these organisms that can affect quality?’ And naturally, we came to beer.”

Invisible Sentinel and Victory Brewing are now developing a rapid molecular diagnostic tool called Veriflow brewPAL that holds promise to save the brewer from wasting valuable beer stores due to bacterial spoilage.

“There isn’t any [similar] technology that exists today that’s easy to use and that’s accurate and cost-effective,” Pascal added in the article. “And with a partner like Victory behind us, I think this product is really going to be a paradigm shift and a big game-changer in the industry.”
