Magrogan Group Settles Logo Dispute With Hershey Resort

By

“Susquehanna” was the magic word for Dave Magrogan of West Chester, who settled a lawsuit over the name and logo of his $1 million new Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar at the Shoppes at Susquehanna Marketplace just days before it was scheduled to open on Thursday.

6.25.2015 DMG Dave MagroganAdding “Susquehanna” above its logo and clarifying disclosures to advertising material was enough to appease Hershey Entertainment & Resorts, which operates a restaurant named Harvest at The Hotel Hershey 10 miles away and sued Magrogan over the similarities in both name and logo, even though Magrogan’s establishment is federally trademarked.

The out-of-court agreement arrived after a conversation with Hershey Vice President of Operations John Lawn, which was prompted by a comment Magrogan left on the company’s Facebook page, according to an update on PennLive.

“We had a very positive conversation,” Magrogan said in the article. “We were able to reach an agreement for everybody.”
