A new craft beer and dining option is coming to Southern Chester County when the Kennett Brewing Company (KBC) opens this September at 109 South Broad Street. The new establishment plans to combine innovative craft beer, local artists, and a touch of whimsy to its upcoming brand.

“At the root of it, Kennett Brewing Company is about beer and friendship,” according to co-founder Jossy Osborne. Indeed, KBC’s seasonal menu featuring fresh, organic fare will be complemented by creative craft beers, created by the brewing team of Chris Braunstein and Mark Osbourne.

“We’re unique because of our brewers and the beer they create,” says co-founder Jen Braunstein, “Mark is into historic English ales, while Chris is into the newer American styles.” Through a combination of replicating traditional styles and creating innovative interpretations, KBC provides a tasting experience like no other.

The Unionville Times reported last week, the KBC concept took 13 years of tasting, brewing, and research before the team was confident in their “extraordinary” product. Jen and Chris Braunstein are also teachers in the Kennett Consolidated School District, so they wanted to offer as much local flavor as they could muster.

Meghan Bergman, Greenwood Elementary art teacher and rising ceramics potter was commissioned to design hand-made ceramic mugs for the exclusive KBC mug club. Another local artist, Derek Brennan, was chosen to develop the whimsical Kennett Brewing Company “Hop Skull” logo.

KBC seeks to provide its customers with “a tasting experience like no other,” offering an intimate setting to “affordably enjoy interpretations of the finest beers from around the world,” amidst all the charm of historic and vibrant Kennett Borough.
