G.O. Carlson Airport Will Have National Aviation Day Tours
Chester County’s G.O. Carlson Airport west of Coatesville will be open for tours on National Aviation Day, Tuesday, Aug. 19.
The event is co-sponsored by PennDOT, and state airports throughout the state plan to participate. The airport invites second to sixth-grade students and others interested for airport tours and activities.
There will be tours, preflight inspections and educational aviation activities. The event should help Boy and Girl Scouts meet the requirements for aviation and/or aerospace merit badges.
The celebration activities are free, but those interested in attending should contact Gary Hudson at Chester County Airport, 610-383-6057 about any registration requirements.
All attendees should bring their own lunch and any necessary chaperones. The airport’s restaurant, The Flying Machine Café, will also be open.
The Chester County Airport has a state-of-the-art terminal with a comfortable crew lounge, lobby, flight planning services, and complimentary coffee. The airport is home base for many private corporate jets, and companies including Sikorsky Helicopter and Chester County Aviation.
