West Chester’s Metabo Introduces Brushless Impact Wrench

By

Metabo Corporation of West Chester makes power tools for professionals and has introduced a new SSW 18 LTX 400 BL Brushless Impact Wrench which the company says is a completely new class of tool.

The company at 1231 Wilson Drive announced last year they were poised for growth and expansion and have continued to follow through by introducing new products.

6.7.2014 Metabo2The impact wrench weighs just 4.2 pounds but produces a jolting 295 ft. pounds of torque.  Its small size and high torque allow it to be used in place of corded or pneumatic impact wrenches in tight space applications where bulky tools and air hoses won’t fit.

The impact wrench also has variable speed electronics with 12-speed and torque settings for driving both large volumes of regular bolts as well as the power to handle heavy duty high torque applications.  The tool is well-balanced, lightweight and—with its slim rubber coated grips–very easy to handle and use.  The die-cast aluminum gear housing makes the tool extremely durable for use in demanding work environments.

The wrench has a brushless motor, long running 18V battery system, and is backed by a 3-year warranty.

“This tool is simply in a class of its own,” said Terry Tuerk, Metabo’s senior product manager. “In terms of size and power, nothing else compares.”

Metabo has international headquarters in Nurtingen, Germany and U.S. headquarters in West Chester.  The company has focused its product development on technological advancements in electronic circuitry and mechanical design to manufacture high performance, durable electric power tools.  The name Metabo is German for “metal-boring,” symbolic of the company’s first tool — a metal-boring tool — manufactured in 1924.

A company motto is, “With a Metabo tool, you’re always holding a piece of the future in your hand.”
