The world is a better place thanks to West Chester’s century-strong home comfort innovator, Lasko Products.

The entrepreneurial West Chester-based company will receive the Pennsylvania Company of the Year Award for its remarkable example in fostering global economic growth and prosperity during the 13th Annual World Trade Centers Day awards celebration May 7 at The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia.

The World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia has organized the event ever since Sept. 11, 2001, with the help of the World Trade Centers Association and the United Nations. It annually recognizes standout global trade visions and achievements, according to an invitation to the awards gala.

Other 2015 honorees set to be awarded during the event include Global Business Leadership Award winner Philip Rinaldi, CEO of Philadelphia Energy Solutions, for his leadership of PES’ “rescue and turnaround of the Point Breeze and Girard Point oil refineries” and “vision for the region as an energy hub,” and New Jersey Company of the Year F.W. Winter Inc. and Co.
