The northeast corner of East Lincoln Highway and Route 82 is now headed for a transformation into a 20,000-square-foot commercial development with 40 to 60 market-rate apartments above, according to a recent Daily Local News article.

Alongside a new train station for the community, the proposed development provides a spark of economic activity that local officials hope is just a start of what’s to come. Its groundbreaking could arrive within the next two years.

“DEPG is very enthused about developing this exciting mixed-use project in Coatesville,” said company managing member Jim DePetris in the article. “We have been active over the years in areas such as West Chester, Phoenixville, Coatesville, and Manayunk, bringing many retailers and restaurants to those communities in the early stages of development. We are confident that we will be able to do the same thing again in Coatesville.”
