David Reis Now Leads Local Cyber-Security Firm

By

David Reis is the new owner of CFR, a corporate investigating firm now specializing in cyber security.

CFR’s team includes cyber security professionals with roots in the government intelligence field.  As a service disabled veteran owned small business, CFR also plans to enter the federal contracting field.

Reis was formerly a principal and director of operations for Sterling International, a veteran-owned small business entrusted with executing a $250 million U.S. State Department contract in austere environments around the globe.  Reis helped launch Sterling with several former intelligence colleagues, and a distinguished bi-partisan group of former White House cabinet officials, including the nation’s first Secretary of Homeland Security, a former CIA Director, and a former National Security Advisor.

Before entering the private sector, Reis served as a federal agent with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, an intelligence officer with a joint CIA/DIA operation, and an infantry officer in the U.S. Army. He served combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Since 1998, CFR investigators have successfully completed a wide range of engagements across a variety of industries, with particular emphasis on fraud, asset theft, commercial disputes, product liability and security, litigation support and background investigations. The company was founded by law enforcement professionals Thomas Cloud, James Feehery and David Richter. Cloud, a former member of the Pennsylvania State Police, and Richter, a former FBI agent, remain with the firm. Feehery, a former FBI agent, has retired.

CFR’s founders were the lead investigators in the famous “Johnston Gang” case in Chester County in the 1970s.  The case was depicted in the movie “At Close Range” and the book “Jailing the Johnston Gang.”  They also were the main investigators in the theft of 15 paintings from the Andrew Wyeth residence, all recovered in the 1980s.

“CFR has an enviable record of providing excellent investigative services for clients for more than 15 years,” Reis said. “We will maintain those services while adding customized and innovative computer and network security services for our commercial and government clients.”

After spending his career serving the country around the globe, Reis plans to provide the same type of services to the local business community.

“As a Downingtown native, I’m so impressed by the growth in the Philadelphia region,” he said.  “I’m excited to help local companies protect their interests.”

Specific areas of expertise include security testing, incident response, forensic services, security program development and security training. CFR is located at 770 East Market St., Suite 280, West Chester and may be reached at 610-696-6055.
