Genesis HealthCare based in Kennett Square announced 24 of its skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers in other states have been given Bronze National Quality Awards from the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living.

The awards honor facilities that have demonstrated their commitment to improving quality care for seniors and individuals with disabilities. Only 390 facilities nationwide received the Bronze level award this year.

“These centers have not only successfully applied the criteria of the National Quality Award program, but have demonstrated a true commitment for improving lives through quality care,” said Ed McMahon, Ph.D., chair of the AHCA/NCAL awards. “I applaud and encourage this year’s recipients to continue their quality journeys.”

Since 1996 the award program has awarded facilities for excellence according to the core values and criteria of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program. Bronze applicants must demonstrate their ability to implement a performance improvement system. As Bronze recipients, the 24 Genesis centers may now move forward in developing approaches and achieving performance levels that meet the criteria required for the Silver Award.
